This policy supplements our privacy policy. It describes the trackers set on or read from your device when you browse studiozik.com, their purpose, their lifetime and the means available to you to control them. It is drawn up pursuant to Article 82 of French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended, transposing Directive 2002/58/EC, and the CNIL guidelines and recommendation on cookies and other trackers.
1. What is a tracker?
A tracker is a file or equivalent technology placed on your device, or read from it, when you visit a website. The term covers HTTP cookies, local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), invisible pixels, script-generated identifiers and fingerprinting techniques. This policy covers all of these technologies, whatever their medium.
2. Our principle: nothing before your choice
When you arrive on the site, only strictly necessary trackers are active. No non-exempt analytics cookie, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking script is loaded until you have expressed your choice.
The banner offers three actions of equal visual weight and equal ease:
- Accept all — one click;
- Reject all — one click, in the same place and with the same styling;
- Customise — to choose category by category.
Continuing to browse, scrolling the page or clicking elsewhere does not amount to consent. As long as no choice has been expressed, no non-essential tracker is set.
3. Tracker categories
3.1 Strictly necessary trackers — exempt from consent
These are essential to the operation of the site and to providing the service you expressly request. Their placement is exempt from consent under Article 82 cited above.
| Name | Issuer | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
studiozik_session | studiozik.com | Session identifier: keeps the basket and purchase journey state | Session (deleted when the browser closes) |
XSRF-TOKEN | studiozik.com | Cross-site request forgery protection (form security) | 2 hours |
studiozik_locale | studiozik.com | Stores the automatically detected or manually selected language | 12 months |
studiozik_consent | studiozik.com | Stores your tracker choices and evidences your consent | 6 months |
3.2 Analytics trackers — consent required
These let us understand site traffic, identify pages that cause problems and improve the purchase journey. They are set only if you accept the "Analytics" category.
| Name | Issuer | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Ireland Ltd | Distinguish visitors (Google Analytics 4) | 13 months |
_ga_<ID> | Google Ireland Ltd | Maintain the Analytics session state | 13 months |
Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation, data sharing with other Google services disabled, and a retention period limited to fourteen months.
3.3 Advertising and campaign performance trackers — consent required
These let us measure the effectiveness of our campaigns on Google Ads and Meta platforms, avoid showing you the same advertisement repeatedly and tailor our messages. They are set only if you accept the "Advertising" category.
| Name | Issuer | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ireland Ltd | Google Ads conversion attribution | 3 months |
_gcl_aw | Google Ireland Ltd | Google Ads click tracking | 3 months |
IDE, test_cookie | Google / DoubleClick | Ad serving and measurement | Up to 13 months |
_fbp | Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd | Browser identifier for the Meta pixel | 3 months |
fr | Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd | Ad delivery and measurement on Meta platforms | 3 months |
As regards the Meta pixel, Studio Zik and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd act as joint controllers for the collection and transmission operations, under the terms of Meta's joint controller addendum. Meta then acts as an independent controller for the subsequent processing it carries out.
3.4 What we do not use
- No fingerprinting tracker for tracking purposes.
- No cookie set by any third-party advertising network other than those listed above.
- No cookie wall: access to the site and the ability to order are never conditional on accepting trackers.
- No sale or provision of your browsing data to data brokers.
4. Google Consent Mode v2
Where Google tags are present they operate in consent mode. Before any choice is expressed, and where consent is refused, the following signals are set to denied:
analytics_storage— storage related to audience measurement;ad_storage— storage related to advertising;ad_user_data— sending user data for advertising purposes;ad_personalization— advertising personalisation.
They switch to granted only for the categories you have explicitly accepted, and revert immediately to denied if you withdraw consent.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choice
You may reconsider your decision at any time:
- by clicking "Manage cookies" in the footer, which reopens the preferences panel;
- by deleting the
studiozik_consentcookie, which causes the banner to be displayed again; - by configuring your browser to block or delete cookies.
Withdrawing consent is as simple as giving it and has no effect on your ability to browse, order or receive delivery. It does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Browser settings
- Google Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings › Safari › Privacy & Security.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking all cookies at browser level may degrade basket functionality and prevent an order from being validated, since those functions rely on strictly necessary trackers.
7. Consent validity period
Your choices are retained for six months. After that period the banner is shown again in order to obtain renewed consent. Evidence of each consent — random identifier, choices by category, policy version, timestamp — is retained for thirty-six months for evidential purposes, in line with the CNIL recommendation.
8. Contact
For any question about trackers: dpo@studiozik.com. You also have the right to complain to the CNIL or to the supervisory authority of your country of residence; contact details appear in our privacy policy.
